HEAVY METAL'S HISTORY
Heavy metal today includes bands such as: Metallica, Disturbed, Megadeth,Tool, Godsmack and
many more. All these bands have one common influence, Black Sabbath.
Black Sabbath emerged in the mid seventies, with a new, heavier sound.
The band is now known as the first heavy metal band in history. Ozzy
Osbourne, the most popular icon in heavy metal, along with Toni Iommi,
Geezer Butler and Bill Ward where the people behind the music.
Even though Black Sabbath was a music revolution, that doesn't
mean there weren't others. In '83 Metallica started making a name for
themselves when they released Kill 'Em All.
Kill 'Em All was the start of eighties heavy metal, the sound had more
thrash and speed to it. Metallica is now one of the most well-known
metal bands of their time.
Megadeth is another greatly known band in history. When they released their first album in 1985, Killing Is my Business... And Business Is Good. In 1986 they released Peace Sells... But Who's Buying. In the bands history they released 13 albums in twenty three years.
Other revolutionary bands are: AC/DC, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin many others.
